1. Program Objectives

  • Provide a scientific and technological foundation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase the share of renewable energy, and improve energy efficiency.

  • Support research and real-world deployment, focusing on solutions suitable for Vietnam’s specific conditions.

  • Connect research institutes, enterprises, and government authorities to accelerate the implementation of Net Zero projects.

2. Target Participants

  • Group 1: Researchers, lecturers, and students in engineering, environmental science, and energy-related disciplines.

  • Group 2: Enterprises operating in energy, industrial manufacturing, transportation, and agriculture sectors.

  • Group 3: Managers and policymakers in environmental protection and sustainable development.

3. Program Structure (18–24 Months)

Phase 1: Foundational Knowledge & Research Capacity (6 months)

Core Modules:

Overview of Net Zero and KC16

  • International commitments and Net Zero policies in Vietnam

  • Emission reduction roadmaps and carbon management tools

Renewable Energy Technologies under Vietnamese Conditions

  • Rooftop solar power, nearshore wind power, and biomass energy

  • Applications of energy storage systems and hydrogen batteries

Energy Efficiency and Energy-Saving Technologies

  • Green factory models and smart buildings

  • LED lighting technologies and high-efficiency HVAC systems

CO₂ Emissions Management and Circular Economy

  • Applications of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)

  • Waste recycling models and cleaner production

Big Data and AI Applications in Energy Management

  • Energy consumption monitoring using IoT

  • Power system optimization and energy demand forecasting

Phase 2: Application and Real-World Project Deployment (6–12 months)

Key Activities:

Development of Net Zero Pilot Models

  • Deployment of energy-saving technologies in manufacturing plants

  • Implementation of solar power systems combined with energy storage for enterprises

  • “Net Zero Village” models in rural areas

Enterprise and Industrial Zone Practicum

  • Enterprises implementing ISO 50001 – Energy Management Systems

  • Cooperation with green industrial zones to deploy circular waste management models

AI and Big Data Applications in Emission Monitoring

  • Development of emission monitoring systems for factories and urban areas

  • Application of blockchain technology in carbon credit management

Collaboration with Government on Policy and Green Finance

  • Research on feed-in tariff (FIT) mechanisms for renewable energy

  • Assessment of the potential for carbon credit market development in Vietnam

Phase 3: Innovation and Commercialization (6 months)

Commercialization of Net Zero Technologies

  • Support for clean technology startups

  • Partnerships with green investment funds for project development

Consulting for Enterprises on Energy Efficiency Implementation

  • Energy performance assessments for manufacturing enterprises

  • Application of green finance models to support energy transition

Research Publications and Specialized Workshops

  • Preparation of scientific reports and participation in international conferences

  • Networking with research institutes and international organizations to expand cooperation

Training Methodology

  • Blended learning: online training combined with hands-on practice in laboratories and enterprises

  • Group discussions with experts

  • Small-scale research projects

  • Integrated training with workshops and mentoring

  • Support for fundraising from innovation and green finance funds

  • Enterprise linkage to expand real-world applications
